HENRY SMITH, Sworn In For The Defendant, 93rd To Testify

Reading Time: < 1 minute [109 words]

HENRY SMITH, sworn for the Defendant.

I work at the pencil factory in the metal department.

I work with Barrett.

He has talked to me about the reward offered in this case.

He said it was $4,300, and he thought if anybody was to get it, he was to get it, because he found the blood and hair, and he said he ought to get the first hook at it.

He said it six or seven different times.

CROSS EXAMINATION.

He would come out of the room counting it off on his hands.

He did that 2 or 3 times and sort of laughed, counting that imaginary money.
