PAGE 4, COLUMN 2.

Guy B. Biddinger, of New York City, the righthand man of William J. Burns, the detective investigating the Frank case, quietly left Atlanta Wednesday night after having been there under an assumed name since March 29. His whereabouts are not known.

Dan S. Lehon, of New Orleans, Louisiana, the southern superintendent of the Burns agency, when seen in his apartments at the Georgian Terrace Thursday morning, declined to say where Mr. Biddinger had gone. He merely admitted that his co-worker had found it necessary to leave the city, presumably in the interest of the case.

Mr. Lehon said he did not know when Mr. Biddinger would return but expressed the belief that he would come back to the city with his chief, who is believed to be in New York working on certain phases of the case. He further stated that Mr. Burns would not reach Atlanta on Thursday, which lends color to the supposition that Mr. Biddinger has either gone to New York to meet him or with the intention of joining the great sleuth en route to Atlanta.

Mr. Lehon would not discuss the matter further. "There will be nothing to give out," he said, "until Mr. Burns returns."
